Programme Coordinator (Birmingham)

Job Description

This Role

We run a range of programmes, dealing with issues such as leadership, the environment and youth unemployment. This role is being brought in to the organisation to support the exciting delivery of our Find Your Power programme in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity to work across two funded projects, including the launch of our programme supporting unaccompanied asylum seeking children in partnership with the Red Cross and Refugee Council.

Reporting to the Programme Manager in Birmingham, you will ensure that all Find Your Power programmes are set up correctly and all participants are supported through their journey with UpRising. This is a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic, values-driven organisation working to achieve lasting social change. Key Competencies

  • Delivering or facilitating sessions for young people.
  • Recruiting and/or retaining young people for programmes, events (or similar).
  • Able to work in a fast moving environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Experience of planning, delivering and evaluating programmes and/or events.
  • Administration experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of social media and communicating messages professionally to both young people and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to engage and motivate others.
  • High-quality writing skills for the production of both internal and external documents; and to different audiences.
  • IT skills at a level that support information management on Excel and the utilisation of the Salesforce management system

NCS Summer roles

NCS is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for sixteen and seventeen year olds to develop their confidence, learn new skills, make new friends and learn more about making a difference in their community.

The programme kicks off with a residential at an outdoor activity centre for five days, where young people test their limits through a range of fun activities and experience the freedom of being away from home with new friends. Young people will then spend five days at a University halls of residence, where they will live independently and develop a range of useful life skills. Participants then spend the next week in Tamworth or Lichfield.
