Louise Miles-Payne

Louise is the Cardiff Senior Programme Manager. Originally from Swindon, Wiltshire she has lived in Cardiff since 1999 after coming to study Theatre and Media Drama at the University of Glamorgan (now University of South Wales).

Prior to joining UpRising Louise was a freelance creative producer and consultant specialising in project management, programming and producing.

As Head of Programming at Wales Millennium Centre, Louise was tasked with producing and the artistic programming in the theatrical spaces, site specific locations on and off site, over 500 free performances a year, festival programming and special projects such as WOW – Women of the World Festival and WMC’s 10th Anniversary highlight event ‘Ar Waith Ar Daith’.

Louise joined the Centre in June 2004 as a theatre programmer, before which she was the Arts Development Officer at the Cwmparc Arts Project in Treorchy where she was responsible for expanding, developing and promoting the use of the Parc Hall Theatre and for delivering a specific performing arts programme offering children, youth and adult arts activities.

She was also Chair of Creu Cymru, the development agency for theatre and art centres in Wales and on the board of Carlson Dance Company.

In her spare time Louise is a keen baker and game show fan!
