This Role

Reporting to the Chief Executive, this position manages the financial and operational aspects of the organisation; working as part of the Senior Management Team with one internal report (the Corporate Services Manager) and supported by external accountants. The role will lead strategic change within the organisation and oversee the day-to-day operations of Staff Management, Finance, Systems and IT, and Risk Management. This is a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic, values-driven organisation working to achieve lasting social change. Key Competencies

  • Strategic management experience within a small/medium sized organisation at a national level.

  • Leadership skills to manage, motivate and empower regional teams of staff working remotely in a national organisation to achieve their full potential.

  • Financial management experience, preferably at an organisational/national level; and preferably in the charity sector.

  • Financial management skills necessary to develop and monitor national budgets up to £2millions; with the ability to identify and manage financial risk.

  • IT skills at a level that support the strategic development and implementation of information systems across an organisation (with Salesforce knowledge desirable).

  • Complex programme management, planning, delivering and evaluating national programmes to a high standard, with a particular emphasis on managing quality and risk in a complex environment

  • Ability to develop and implement organisational policies, procedures and processes that ensure the successful running of a national organisation

  • Experience with charity governance, with the confidence to challenge decisions at a senior level when necessary.

  • Ability to represent UpRising professionally at a national level, delivering high profile events and communicating effectively with a diverse range of senior stakeholders.

  • High-quality writing skills for the production of both internal and external documents (including reports, policies and funding proposals) and to different audiences.
