Job Descrption  

UpRising is recruiting for a Finance Manager to support the oranisation in in maintaining internal control and oversight of its finances. Please note that we do have external accountants who deal with the accounting and most financial operations for the organisation. This is more of a supervisory/strategic role to ensure that the charity’s finances are in order and that financial information is effectivelycommunicated between the external accountants and the CEO and Senior Management Team to enable effective decision making.

We are looking for individual who can demostrate the following competencies:

  1. Financial management experience, preferably at an organisational/national level, with the skillsnecessary to develop and monitor budgets of up to £1.5million.

  2. Experience of financial management in the charity sector.

  3. The ability to identify and manage financial risk.

  4. IT skills at a level that support the strategic development and implementation of financial systems (including Salesforce) across an organisation.

  5. Ability to develop and implement financial policies, procedures and processes across an organisation that ensure the successful running of a national organisation

  6. Strategic management experience within a small/medium sized organisation at a national level.

  7. Involvement with charity governance, with the confidence to challenge decision making at a senior level when necessary.

  8. Accounting and financial administration within a small organisation, with a sound knowledge of accounting procedures/legislation.

  9. Ability to represent UpRising professionally at a national level, working on high profile events and communicating effectively with a diverse range of senior stakeholders.

  10. High-quality writing skills for the production of both internal and external documents (including reports, policies and funding proposals) and to different audience
