Help from Business

We believe that Leadership can’t be taught in a classroom.

So, what better way for our leaders-to-be to learn about local and national decision-making, than from those who are living and breathing it? Your organisation could help change the life of a young person.

We provide a unique, experiential learning journey - far removed from anything our young people experience in their normal day-to-day lives.

UpRising engage with companies across all sectors, in a mutually beneficial way, striving to go beyond the traditional business vs charity relationship. There is a whole host of ways you can get involved, from volunteering on our Programmes as an UpRising Role Model, all the way to Sponsorshipor Programme Commissions / Partnerships with UpRising to provide leadership workshops with your own staff. Not only will the support help young people, but also bring Benefits to your business.

We can directly contribute to your diversity, inclusion and CSR agendas and at the same time, ensure that our young leaders have access to a wide selection of the very best role models.

Manchester UpRisers 2015-16 at their Graduation Ceremony

Our Programmes are powered by a network of professional ‘Role Model’ volunteers from all walks of life, who share one common goal ‘to give back and support the leaders of tomorrow’.

UpRising Role Models play an key role in supporting our mission, from start-ups sharing their career journey, local experts delivering workshops, to world-class companies hosting visits and business leaders mentoring young adults to reach their full potential.

Across our 2016/17 Programmes a staggering 1,334 hours of time were donated, which equals to just over 55 days worth of expertise, knowledge sharing by our Role Models in just one year.

“It was great to get the opportunity to contribute to the debate with young people on the Uprising Programme in Liverpool about the critical issue of Ethical Business in a Global Economy. I was really encouraged by the interest shown by participants to help us engage more young people in the International Business Festival 2018.”
Ian McCarthy,  Festival Director, 2018 International Business Festival.

“We were keen to take the opportunity to engage with the young people on the UpRising Leadership Programme because the Programme’s objectives fit very well with some of the drivers behind our Corporate Responsibility Strategy.
I was impressed by the level of interest the young people showed throughout and by the thoughtfulness of their questioning, where they quickly recognised the core issues we were discussing and then posed relevant and challenging questions.
It was an enjoyable and stimulating event.
"

Andy Holding, Corporate Responsibility Manager, Birmingham City Airport
