“UpRising has been, and continues to be, a real eye-opener. Being able to talk with professionals has certainly had an impact on my workplace confidence.  UpRisers are a group of people who have widely different personal lives, and are equally passionate about making our community a better place to live.”
Iona Hannagan Lewis, Cardiff Pilot Programme participant

  • A young ambassador for the Prince’s Trust

  • One UpRiser volunteered with The Safe Foundation in Uganda

  • An UpRiser delivered the UK’s first ever a Refugee Summer University for the Welsh Refugee Council in conjunction with Cardiff University.

Social Action

Whilst on the Programmes our UpRisers have developed and delivered a massive range of Social Action projects direct in their communities. Recent themes have included: Increasing political awareness amongst young people, improving sex education, promoting STEM subjects, promoting the Welsh language, supporting refugees and asylum seekers in accessign education, highlighting problems of accessing drug rehabilitation services for ethnic minority groups and to create an online marketplace for charity shops.
