What to expect from applying:

You can apply to the programme by clicking here.

Our application form takes between 10 - 15 minutes to complete.

We will ask you for a short personal statement about why you are interested in the programme. We’ll also ask you for some information which is quite personal. You don’t need to complete this if you don’t want to, although most applicants do. Importantly, the information we collect is only used in connection with your application and to help us understand the impact of the programme. From the point that we offer you a place, no-one on the team knows anything about you, except what you share with them.  We assess every application individually in order to ensure that we’re providing support where it’s most needed. There is no interview component to the application process.

Before You Start

The Environmental Leadership Programme is offered entirely digitally, and we will support you to develop practical skills in tools being used in the modern workplace. We’ll send you all the information you need before the first session to get set up on our digital platforms, as well as the joining instructions for the first Zoom session.

We’ll also ask you to complete a short survey that asks you about your skills, confidence and pre-existing knowledge. The answers you give are kept anonymously.

The Programme

You’ll attend weekly or fortnightly sessions, taking place on Wednesday evenings from 6pm - 8pm.

You’ll take part in a range of sessions designed to equip you with the tools needed to run a successful environmental campaign and become a green leader. You’ll attend in-depth workshops specifically looking at issues surrounding sustainability, energy and climate change, food and water, and nature and conservation. Alongside your peers, you’ll form a social action campaign about an issue you care about, and  attend sessions such as Campaign Messaging and Making Political Change to ensure your campaign has sustained impact. During the second half of the programme, we’ll introduce you to the range of careers within the green sector. You’ll hear from industry experts who can provide you with insight, guidance and advice about how to launch your career in the green sector. The first session will be on Wednesday 6th April. Sessions will run to September, when we’ll celebrate you completing the programme with a graduation ceremony.

Through its workshops, the programme has developed my professional and personal skills. I was able to grow in confidence and awareness regarding the environment and have also broadened my knowledge
